Introductory Lesson

"The two things that stand out in my mind that keeps me committed to my training is first, the general attitude in the dojo of respect, courtesy, and positive attitude. If only the rest of the world was like the atmosphere inside the dojo. The second thing that stands out is my conversation with Sensei where I expressed my doubts about being able to pursue my training given my fitness level and aches and pains. He assured me that I can achieve my goals because he had confidence in me as a student and himself as a teacher and hes seen other people in my situation become Black Belts. I always remember that conversation whenever I have any doubts in my ability and trust that Sensei will get me there."

"My son had done many organized activities. As great as they were, in time he grew out of each one. We were looking for something different this time, something he could grow with. After deciding on Karate, we visited 5 dojos with LaVallees USA Black Belt Champions as the 5th. LaVallees was far superior to the other dojos we had visited. After having my son become a member and student, the effects on him were immediate. He is not only learning martial arts from superior instructors (and his skill is developing at a great pace), but he is also developing strength in his character and personality. The instructors teach mind and body. We are very pleased with all the new friends our son is making. The instructors are also very supportive to parents needs as well. My son is so excited to go to every class. Karate makes him happy and that makes us happy. My recommendation to parents is to sign up your children a.s.a.p. You and your children will be happy you did.

By the way...they have great birthday parties!

I have been with USA Black Belt Champions for 12 years, the last 4 years with the Coconut Creek Dojo under Sensei Scaccia. I started karate just for the physical exercise but I ended up getting so much more. In addition to getting in great shape, I learned how to defend myself and protect my family. I also learned things for my mental well-being; things to keep your motivated and strong thru good times and tough times.

Karate is something that the whole family can do together. My son started at the age of 7 and continued thru until he joined the Navy last year. My daughter stared at 4 with the little champion program and is now in the Jr program. Ive noticed her focus and attention span improving with every class.

To me there is nothing out there, as far as exercise, which compares to what karate can do for you, physically and mentally.

Back in February of this year, my son Patrick began working toward his Black Belt at the Clay dojo. Week after week, I would sit in the bleachers watching him train three to four days a week. I love the fact that he was learning the life skills and karate skills that were being taught at LaVallees. The staff was so impressive working with the children, always patient and encouraging. I had no regrets about enrolling my son in the program.

Then came June and the Fathers Day Special. Mr. Baker sat down next to me during Pats class. He told me about the special, and asked if I would be interested in giving karate a try. Three months freeno commitment, no strings. I proceeded to explain to him that although I enjoyed being there watching Patrick train, karate was out of the question for me. I was Fifty years old and out of shape and have serious medical conditions. No way would my doctor or my wife allow me to take karate. He proceeded to tell me about some of the challenges that other students have faced. He thought that if I was willing to try, the instructors would be willing to work with me through my challenges. Much to my surprise both my doctor and wife thought karate was a great idea!

The beginning of my training was difficult at best. I had not worked that hard in years, but all the staff assured me it was doable. Its all about setting goals, and achieving them. Ive had a great time training at LaVallees. I have reached levels I did not know I could and continue to do so. The staff, as well as the students, are always very encouraging. We all help each other, and with the assistance of Mr. T, we have a lot of laughs too.

Thanks for the encouragement, the little pushes to keep me moving forward, and the professionalism of the instructors. I have had a great time training with you, and look forward to many more years of the same.

"Although my 13-year-old son has always been involved with sports, his stamina and self confidence never seemed to match his potential. He joined LaVallees USA Black Belt Champions 9 months ago and has had an incredible transformation both mentally and physically.

Sensei Kim Andrello and the staff at the LaVallees USA Black Belt Champions, in Baldwinsville, serve not only as gifted teachers, but also as instructors who motivate their students to be the best that they can be. My sons coordination, agility, and stamina have improved greatly. In addition, he has attained the knowledge of karate as well as a better sense of self-confidence. This has carried over to other aspects of his life such as in schoolwork, with communication skills, and with social skills.

He is a now a confident young adult ready to take on the world both mentally and physically. Thanks LaVallees!!"
