Strength In Unity!
Since our humble beginning, we have followed the credo: "Strength in Unity."
For over 30 years, we have lived the same principles we teach our students. We do our best to "Walk our Talk" and see that all Sensei's are highly trained role
model examples of our own training systems. We've always strived to be a World Class Team of Black Belt Leaders who share their passion and knowledge with their students. Our first Dojo was in a small 2nd floor location in Liverpool,
N.Y. It was tiny, worn, and dingy in comparison to our current spacious, clean, and modern facilities. Although small in size, it didn't take long to grow large
in talent, skill, and spirit.

Our Chief Master Instructor, Kyoshi Steve LaVallee
began his life long quest for excellence in the Martial Arts at that very same dojo at a very young age. Like many of the Masters that came before him, he began his training as a child, 10 years old. By the time he was eighteen, he bought the school from his teacher, Master Lee Thompson, and officially became the Sensei of his first dojo. In his early years, he spent nearly every waking moment training, traveling, and leading his team to victory in tournament competitions.
|
Soon, he was awarded "Triple Crown" by Karate Illustrated for winning hundreds of championships in fighting, forms, and weapons. Many students followed in his footsteps and also became Top-Ranked competitors in the tournament arena. Always seeking greater knowledge and skill, he traveled to Tennessee to train with World Full Contact Champion, Bill "Superfoot" Wallace. He was then influenced to add boxing to his training regimen and he spent the next few years honing his boxing and kickboxing skills, under the guidance of "Hall of Fame" Boxing Coach, Ray Rinaldi.
|
As he expanded his skills, his talents and titles grew, so did the size of his team. In the early eighties, he realized his true passion was teaching and training. Instead of traveling to compete, he decided to retire from active competition and turned his attention to building a new breed of Black Belt Champions. He began learning new arts and started experimenting with teaching Multi-Style Martial Arts. Like Bruce Lee, he was blending the best strengths of each art that he was studying. He also began to study more about the psychological side of Peak Performance and added proven success principles. That concept lead to an entire Life Skills Curriculum that is designed to influence a students Attitude, Behavior and Character. Instantly, students were enjoying the benefits of this new format and were training with greater intensity, while gaining a deeper level of personal growth and expertise.
|
This innovative approach soon brought our team a lot of attention in the Martial Arts Industry and gave us International respect and recognition. Our students were learning much more than just kicking and punching, besides honing their fighting skills, they were becoming Black Belt Champions in Life. Our primary focus began to follow a traditional principal of martial arts training, called “Excellence in Knowledge.”
|
Excellence in Knowledge, as it has traditionally been used in the martial arts, represents the quest for excellence in each of the major aspects of our experience – Mind, Body and Spirit. Our Karate and Kickboxing schools became 100% committed to developing our students in a more complete fashion. We found that by strengthening their attitude, behavior and character, now known as the ABC"s of a Black Belt Champion, we were better able to build their minds and bodies, while instilling a non-quitting Black Belt Spirit.

Educational ~ Motivational ~ Inspirational
Besides teaching great Martial Arts, we educate and motivate our students with critical life skills, such as goal setting, leadership, fitness, self-defense, self-discipline, improved focus and concentration, mutual respect and relationship building. Our programs are recognized in the United States and around the world as leading edge in the development of Peak Performance.
|
Our Elite Leadership and Black Belt Champion training programs include a dynamic and exciting curriculum in all of the above areas. We also teach our students to develop habits of personal safety and awareness, along with how to deal with conflict in a non-violent manner.
|
With more than two-thousand students a day training in our #1 USA Black Belt Schools, we utilize the latest in modern training methods to build dynamic class energy that is exciting, empowering, and educational. Our Li'l Champions Program for youth 4-6 years old is nationally recognized as a leader in its class. Our Junior Leadership and Adult Elite Leadership programs continue to receive national awards for content, energy dynamics and self-development.
